Privacy policy.
What we collect, why we collect it, how the AI assistant handles your chats and the choices you have, in plain English.

Who we are
Just Creative People is based in the UK. For this website, and for any enquiries you send us, Just Creative People is the "data controller": the business responsible for deciding how your personal information is used.
Just Creative PeopleCompstall Road, Romiley, Greater Manchester, SK6 4JF
hello@justcreativepeople.co.uk
This policy covers this website, our contact form, our AI assistant and any messages you send us. It doesn't cover personal information we handle on a client's behalf as part of a project, which is dealt with in our agreement with that client.
What we collect
When you use the contact form
Your name and email address, your company and phone number if you give them, the services you're interested in, your rough budget and your message. We also record the date and time you sent the form and your IP address, which helps us spot spam and misuse.
When you use the AI assistant
Your name, email address and phone number if you enter them, plus everything you type in the chat. The AI assistant section has the details.
When you message us on WhatsApp
Your WhatsApp name, phone number and profile details, and anything you send us.
When you browse the site
Information about your visit, such as the pages you view, how you reached the site, your approximate location, your device and browser, and your IP address. This is collected through Google Analytics and our hosting provider's logs.
Please don't send us sensitive information, such as health details or bank details, through the form, the AI assistant or WhatsApp. We don't need it to answer an enquiry.
How we use it and why
Data protection law requires us to have a lawful reason, known as a "lawful basis", for each way we use your information.
| What we do | Lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Reply to your enquiry and arrange a chat | Legitimate interests in responding to people who contact us, and steps you've asked us to take before a possible contract |
| Answer your questions through the AI assistant and follow up on them | Your consent, given through the cookie banner or the chat, or your request when you open the assistant yourself, plus legitimate interests in following up on enquiries |
| Deliver work and manage our relationship if you become a client | Performance of a contract |
| Understand how the site is used, using Google Analytics | Your consent, given through the cookie banner |
| Keep the site secure and prevent spam and misuse | Legitimate interests in protecting our site and our business |
| Keep business and tax records, and meet other legal duties | Legal obligation |
We only contact you about your enquiry. We won't add you to a marketing list unless you've agreed to it, and we don't sell your personal information.
Our AI assistant
The chat assistant on this site is an automated AI tool, not a person. It's there to answer questions about our services and how we work, at any time of day. It only loads if you accept it in the cookie banner or click an "Ask our AI assistant" button.
- What it collects: before answering, it may ask for your name, email address and phone number. It also records your questions and its replies.
- Who provides it: the assistant runs on a third-party AI chatbot service. The provider states that the service uses OpenAI's AI models to generate replies, so what you type in the chat is sent to those services for that purpose.
- Where your chat goes: your details and chats are stored in our account with that service and emailed to us, so a real person can read them and reply.
- Accuracy: AI can get things wrong. Please treat its answers as a helpful guide, and check anything important with us. Nothing it says forms a quote or a contract.
- No automated decisions: we don't use the assistant to make decisions about you that have a legal or similarly significant effect. People make those decisions.
You don't have to use the assistant. You can reach us through the contact form or on WhatsApp instead. For more on how OpenAI handles information, see the OpenAI policies. If you have any questions about how your chat is handled, email us.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only where we need to, with the people and services that help us run the business:
| Provider | What they do |
|---|---|
| Hostinger | Hosts this website and keeps server logs |
| Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc.) | Delivers contact form messages to us by email |
| IONOS | Hosts our email inboxes |
| Provides website analytics (Google Analytics) and the site's fonts (Google Fonts) | |
| AI chatbot provider | Provides the AI assistant and stores chats and contact details |
| OpenAI | Provides the AI models behind the assistant, through the AI chatbot provider |
| Cloudflare and unpkg | Deliver some of the code the site needs to run, which means they receive your IP address |
If you message us on WhatsApp, that conversation is also handled by WhatsApp (part of Meta) under its own privacy policy.
We may also share information with people who work with us on your enquiry or project, with professional advisers such as our accountant, and with authorities where the law requires it. If you follow a link to a client's site or a demo from our work pages, that site's own privacy policy applies.
International transfers
Some of these providers are based in, or process information in, countries outside the UK, including the United States. Resend, for example, processes email data in the US. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards recognised by UK data protection law, such as UK adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses provided by the supplier. Email us if you'd like to know more.
How long we keep it
| Information | How long |
|---|---|
| Enquiries and AI assistant chats that don't lead to work | Up to 12 months after our last contact |
| Client records | Up to 6 years after the work ends, for tax, accounting and legal reasons |
| Google Analytics data | No longer than 14 months |
| Server and security logs | Only as long as our providers need them for security and running the service |
We delete information sooner if you ask us to, unless we have to keep it by law.
Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small files saved by your browser, and sites can also save information in your browser's storage. Google Analytics and the AI assistant only run if you allow them. If you click an "Ask our AI assistant" button, we treat that as a request to load the assistant for that visit.
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
jcp-consent (browser storage) | This site | Remembers your cookie choices. Always on, because it's needed to respect them | 6 months, then we ask again |
jcp-chat-visit (browser storage) | This site | Keeps the assistant available during a visit once you've opened it | Until you close the tab |
_ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics | Tells visits apart so we can see how the site is used | Up to 2 years |
| Chat view counter | AI chatbot provider | Stops the assistant's view counts being inflated | Set by the provider |
AiChatbot.* (browser storage) | AI chatbot provider | Remembers your conversation and whether the chat is open, so it keeps working between pages | Until cleared |
jcp-intro | This site | Plays the intro animation only once per visit | Until you close the tab |
You can change your mind at any time using , which is also in the footer of every page. Turning something off removes the cookies and storage it saved in your browser. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
